A Vesak Lantern Competition has organized in commemoration of national Vesak Day with the participants ranging from teams from Security Forces and civilian participants centred around Gangaramaya Temple Colombo. On the instructions of the Colonel of the Regiment – SLNG too entered the competition by exhibiting a beauteous Vesak Lantern. Accordingly, making of the Vesak Lantern based on “Receving the definitive commentary and the character of a bodhisattva” along with other ranks of SLNG under the guidance of Centre Commandant Over 450 creations of Vesak Lanterns from Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Civil Security Department, Civilian Organizations and individuals were exhibited at the Gangaramaya Vesak Zone, where SLNG Vesak Lantern Secured the Third Place in the overall completion.
