Brigadier L Ranchagoda KSP formally assumed duties as the 12th Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) on Friday, 06 March 2026, at the Regimental Centre of the Sri Lanka National Guard. Upon arrival at the Regimental Centre premises, the newly appointed Centre Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and warmly received by the Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel K S R Ranasinghe.

The event paid a heartfelt tribute to his exemplary leadership, dedication and invaluable service rendered during his tenure. The formal proceedings continued with an All-Ranks Tea party, providing an opportunity for the Outgoing Centre Commandant to interact with Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.
