The Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) bid farewell to Brigadier L W S R Wettasinghe, Centre Commandant, on 04 March 2026. The event paid a heartfelt tribute to his exemplary leadership, dedication and invaluable service rendered during his tenure. The formal proceedings continued with an All-Ranks Tea party, providing an opportunity for the Outgoing Centre Commandant to interact with Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.
In his farewell address, Brigadier Rohan Wettasinghe expressed his sincere gratitude to all members of SLNG for their steadfast support, loyalty and commitment throughout his command. He also shared his appreciation for the teamwork and professionalism displayed by the officers and soldiers during his tenure.
The event concluded with the symbolic handover of duties, marking the completion of his term as Centre Commandant. The Colonel of the Regiment, President and Members of the Seva Vanitha Branch of SLNG, Council Members, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present to witness the occasion and to extend their best wishes for his future endeavours.
