36TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE CELEBRATED

The 36^th Anniversary of the Corps of Military Police was celebrated on 30^th April 2026 at the Regimental Centre, Polhengoda. The event was graced by the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Military Police, Major General B G S Fernando USP Hdmc psc as the Chief Guest.

Upon his arrival, the Colonel Commandant was welcomed by the Centre Commandant and accorded a Guard Turnout followed by a Guard of Honour. The day’s programme included a group photograph, planting of a sapling, and a troop address.

In the evening, a musical entertainment programme was held at the basketball ground where all troops enjoyed the event. Senior officers, including the Commander Logistics Command of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General A M R Abesinghe ndc, officers, Regimental Sergeant Majors and other ranks participated in the celebration.
