The Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc, undertook an official visit to the 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police at Diyatalawa on 25 June 2025.
On arrival, the Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 7 SLCMP, Lieutenant Colonel B L K S Balasooriya Lsc and accorded a ceremonial guard turnout. The programme commenced with a comprehensive briefing by the Commanding Officer, followed by a group photograph to mark the occasion. The Colonel Commandant inspected key facilities within the camp premises, and a sapling was ceremonially planted by him as a symbolic gesture to commemorate the visit.
Addressing the troops, Colonel Commandant highlighted the paramount importance of discipline, urged all ranks to practice effective time management, and stressed the need to maintain both physical fitness and mental wellbeing in fulfilling their duties.
The visit concluded with a cordial All-Ranks tea and the signing of the Visitors' Book, leaving a lasting impression on the personnel of the 7th Regiment SLCMP.
The event was further dignified by the presence of the Centre Commandant of SLCMP, Brigadier M M M P Mahesh Kumara, along with several Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the 7th Regiment SLCMP.
