SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE GREETS TO WORLD CLASS SILVER MEDALIST

The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) extended their heartfelt congratulations to their very own Paralympic silver medalist, S/678878 Warrant Officer II Dulan Kodithuwakku, for his remarkable achievement at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. This exceptional athlete, representing the 5th Regiment of the SLCMP, showcased unparalleled dedication, resilience, and discipline, culminating in a stellar performance in the Javelin Throw F44 Category on 2 September 2024.
Warrant Officer II Dulan Kodithuwakku's record-breaking throw of 67.03 meters not only earned him a silver medal but also set a new world record, bringing immense pride and honor to the SLCMP, the Sri Lanka Army, and the entire nation.
To commemorate this historic achievement, a formal ceremony was held on 12 September 2024 at the Regimental Headquarters. The Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General S.A.N.D. Edirisinghe RWP RSP Hdmc psc, along with officers and ranks of the SLCMP, warmly welcomed Warrant Officer II Dulan Kodithuwakku, his esteemed wife, and his coach.
The medalist was escorted in a grand procession by a traditional cultural dance troupe to the assembly area, where a documentary video chronicling his extraordinary journey and previous accomplishments was played for the audience. In recognition of his achievement, the Colonel Commandant presented Warrant Officer II Dulan Kodithuwakku with a token of appreciation on behalf of the SLCMP.
The occasion was graced by officers and all ranks of the SLCMP, who gathered to honor Warrant Officer II Dulan Kodithuwakku and to celebrate his outstanding contribution to the nation and the Sri Lanka Army. His success serves as an inspiration, encouraging him to continue striving for excellence in future competitions.
