WARRANT OFFICER II DULAN KAS ACHIEVED A REMARKABLE FEAT AT THE PARIS 2024 PARALYMPIC GAMES BY SETTING A NEW WORLD RECORD IN THE F44 CATEGORY OF THE JAVELIN THROW

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the 17th edition of the Summer Paralympic Games, is an international multi-sport event governed by the International Paralympic Committee, held in Paris, France, from 28 August to 8 September 2024. Among the distinguished athletes representing Sri Lanka, S/678878 Warrant Officer II Dulan K A S from the 5th Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (5 SLCMP) shone brightly in the Javelin Throw F44 Category.

Adding prestige and glory to the SLCMP, the Sri Lanka Army, and the entire nation, Warrant Officer II Dulan clinched the Silver medal with an impressive throw of 67.03 meters, setting a new world record on 2 September 2024. This exceptional achievement shattered his previous world record of 66.49 meters, which he had set earlier in the year in Japan.

His resilience and dedication have made him one of the most distinguished para-athletes within the Sri Lanka Army Para Games Committee and the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police. His illustrious track record of achievements includes:

a. Bronze Medal in the Javelin Throw F44 at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, on 30 August 2021.
b. Bronze Medal in the Javelin Throw F44 category at the Paris 2023 Para Athletic World Championship on 13 July 2023 in France.
c. Silver Medal in the Javelin Throw F44 at the Asian Para Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, on 28 October 2023.
d. Gold Medal in the Javelin Throw F44 at the Marrakech 2024 World Para Athletics Grand Prix on 28 April 2024 in Morocco.
e. Silver Medal in the Javelin Throw F44 at the Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championship in Japan on 21 May 2024, setting a new world record.
