The “Poson religious festival season” has down signifying the arrival of Buddhism to Sri Lanka. The entire country celebrated the season with numerous religious festival activities. Accirdingly, the 'Sri Jayawardhanapura Poson Zone - 2024' which was organized by 'Obesekarapura Esala Sansadaya' was held from 21 June to 23 June 2024 at Obesekarapura, Rajagiriya.
The 'Colouful Poson Lantern' presented by the Regimental Centre ,Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) together with the Directorate of Provost to the 'Sri Jayawardhanapura Poson Zone - 2024' was offered the third place in the competition by showcasing the creativity and dedication of the Provost troops. This Poson Lantern was made by using Tapata Clothes, Scraped Iron Bars and Papers.
The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Coprs of Military Police, Major General S A N D Edirisinghe RWP RSP Hdmc psc, the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army Brigadier R D Sallay ndc, the Centre Commandant together with all ranks of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police offered best wishes to the troops of SLCMP who contributed to decorate the lantern within two weeks.
