THE PROVOST MARSHAL OF SRI LANKA ARMY UNDERTAKES FORMAL VISIT TO 1 ST AND 5 TH SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE AT POLHENGODA

After assuming duties as the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier R D Sallay ndc paid first official visit to the 1^st and 5^th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police at Polhengoda on Monday, 27^th May 2024.

Upon arrival to the doorstep of the camp premises, the Provost Marshal was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 5 th Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (5 SLCMP) Major I M K Suddagala Lsc and the Commanding Officer of 1 st Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (1 SLCMP) Major V N M Jayasekara USP Lsc where the Senior Officer was accorded with a traditional Guard Turnout. The subsequence programme was line up with the group photographs, Planting of a sapling, Commanding Officers' briefing, troops address followed by the all ranks tea.

During the troops address, the Provost Marshal highlighted his visionary ideas, guidance and the values of soldering as a provost in contemporary situation. Moreover, the Senior Officer expressed his desired expectation in coming years from both units; 5 SLCMP as the ceremonial battalion of Army Headquarters and 1 SLCMP as dedicated Provost unit for Security Force Headquarters (West) AOR.

The Commanding Officers, Officer Commandings of affiliated Provost Companies, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 1 st and 5 th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police were present at the occasion.
