WARRANT OFFICER II DULAN KAS DECORATED WITH THE WORLD RECORD AND SILVER MEDAL IN JAVELIN THROW F44 CATEGORY DURING THE KOBE 2024 PARA ATHLETICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - JAPAN

The Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championships - Japan, kicked off from 17th to 26th May 2024. S/678878 Warrant Officer II Dulan K A S - 5th Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (5 SLCMP) took part the Javelin Throw F44 Category event. Bringing to the glamour and the fame to SLCMP, Sri Lanka Army and the entire nation, Warrant Officer 11 Dulan secured the runners up by throwing a spear for the distance of 66.49 meters thus awarded with the Silver medal and set a new world record on 21 May 2024.

Warrant Officer 11 Dulan joined Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police on 5 December 2009 and he sustained injuries due to a traffic accident in 2016, while performing at Sri Lanka Army Athletic team. Due to the permanent low medical category, he joined the Sri Lanka Army Para- Athletic Team. Further, he participated to the event representing the National Para Olympic Committee. He is one of the excellent Para Athletic players in Sri Lanka Army Para Games Committee and Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police. The previous achievements of Warrant Officer 11 Dulan are as follows:

a. Secured the Bronze Medal in the Javelin Throw F44 on 30 August 2021 during the Para Olympics 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
b. Secured the Bronze Medal in Javelin Throw F44 category during the Paris 2023 Para Athletic World Championship on 13 July 2023 at France.
c. Secured the Silver medal in Javelin Throw F44 on 28 October 2023 during the Asian Para Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.
d. Secured the Gold medal in Javelin Throw F44 on 28 April 2024 during the Marrakech 2024 World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Morocco.
