STUDY VISIT OF THE CRIME INVESTIGATION COURSE

The Crime Investigation Course of School of Military Police visited Government Analyst's Department and Sri Lanka Ports Authority Security Office in Colombo as a part of their training curriculum. Accordingly 02 Officers and 29 NCOs along with the permanent staff attended to this study visit from 13 November to 15 November 2023.

Assistant Director of Sri Lanka Ports Authority Security Office extended a warm welcome to course students and conducted a comprehensive briefing on their role, procedures, developments, specially “International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code” (IMDG Code) and “Dangerous Cargo Goods” (DC). At the end of the sessions, course students presented a memento as a token of appreciation to Sri Lanka Ports Authority Security Office.

As per the proceedings of day two and third Investigation Course students visited Government Analyst's Department and gained extensive knowledge about the Role and Task of Government Analyst's Department and its key functions, Introduction to Forensic Science, Role of Government Analyst in Criminal Investigation and "Firearms and Forensic Ballistics” and the course also presented a memento to Head of the Government Analyst's Department. Two days of study visit was terminated and participants were benefited by the practical knowledge. Senior Instructor and the permeant staff participated in this study visit.
