Under the direction of the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Directorate of Provost initiated the three days training workshop on Traffic Control and Traffic Management combined with City Traffic Division of Sri Lanka Police from 19 Oct 2023 to 21 Oct 2023. The core objective of the workshop is to widen the knowledge of the Officers and Non Commissioned Officers of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.
The beginning of the workshop was marked with the opening address by the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and the Senior Officer emphasized the value of the knowledge in this field as Provost members to carry out police duties in high standard.
Altogether, 06 Officers and 59 Non commissioned Officers who perform island wide provost duties participated to the session and the workshop content included the following subjects’ areas:
Introduction of motor traffic act and important relevant sections.
Introduction to traffic control.
Authority of controlling of traffic of public roads.
Introducing road signs, Traffic colour lights and traffic rules.
Offences done by Army Drivers and Riders.
Handling of Convoys.
Liaison with Civil police and Civil authorities.
Speed checking of vehicles.
The Termination ceremony was held on 21 Oct 2023 where the participants Officer and ORs received certificates as a testimony of completions the workshop. The Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Commanding Officer Special Investigation unit, the Colonel Provost of Directorate of Provost, other Senior Officers, Officers and Students of the workshop participated to the closing address and the certificate awarding ceremony.
