4 SLCMP TURNS THE 28TH CHAPTER

Dignifying the name of “Provost” at Jaffna Peninsula, 4th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police marked her diligent endeavor over 28 years of long journey. Sequential events were held in coincide with the anniversary on 18, 19 and 24 July 2023 under the patronage of the Commanding Officer, Major H L S K Jayatissa Lsc.

On the morning of 18 July, a cleaning campaign at the Mailaddy Pullayar Kovil was conducted by troops of 4 SLCMP as the initial step of magnificent event series. Thereafter, a Bodi Pooja and Kovil Pooja was held on 19 July in order to shower blessings for the all ranks of 4SLCMP

On 24 July ceremonial program was began with a guard turn out and impressive parade in part with the 28th Anniversary of 4 SLCMP gracing of the Commanding Officer as the Chief Guest. After the ceremonial parade, a sapling was planted in the camp premises by the Commanding Officer to symbolize the 28th Anniversary. While the days proceeding in progress, 28 of under privileged families were benefited by the donation of dry ration packs worth about Rs.8000.00 which was contributed by all ranks.

All ranks lunch was then held with the presence of the Officers and other ranks with the aiming to build up cooperation among all ranks and a friendly, healthy working atmosphere. The speech of the Commanding Officer created an opportunity to the all ranks to have a road map in succeeding in both professional and personal life.

The proceedings were concluded with the speech in which the Commanding Officer in an appreciative tone admired the exceptional service of 4 SLCMP to the nation and excellent contribution of the former Commanding Officers and their dedicated teams to elevate the 4 SLCMP to the present standards.

The 28th anniversary celebrations powered by a series of military, cultural and religious events came to an end with the all ranks get-together held in the camp premises by adding an utmost glorification to the prestige of the 4 SLCMP.
