33RD ANNIVERSARY DAY CELEBRATION OF SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE

The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police commemorated its 33rd anniversary on 27^th and 28^th April 2023 in a colorful and vibrant ceremony, held at the Regimental Centre, Polhengoda in the presence of the Colonel Commandant Major General AL Illanagakoon , the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army, Regimental Council members, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.

Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Major General AL Illanagakoon graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was warmly received upon his arrival at the Regimental Centre and was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance in accordance with military formalities. Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant accepted the salute at the ceremonial Parade at the parade ground.

Marking this noteworthy day, Major General AL Illangakoon planted a sapling at the HQ premises and posed for group photographs with Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment.

The day’s commemorative ceremony reached its conclusion with an All Rank lunch arranged at the Corporals' Club - Regimental Centre and after finishing the all ranks Lunch the Colonel Commandant addressed all the troops. On 28^th April 2023, The musical programme that got underway as all ranks get together brought the anniversary ceremonies to an end. Past Colonel Commandants, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Retried Officers participated for the event.
