Book donation programme was held for the 5th time on 05th December 2018 at the Regimental Headquarters, Colombo 05. Total no. of 22558 books, worth approximately 1.8 million rupees were donated to 1683 school children of Officers, Other Rankers and civilians who serve in SLCMP, for the academic year 2019. Books were donated to 60 children symbolizing the event. Simultaneously 14 children of SLCMP soldiers performed their talents in the fields of singing, dancing, instrument playing and comperering at the event. They were presented with gifts worth of Rs.63,000/= along with a certificate. The Chief Guest of the event was the Col Comdt of SLCMP and Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army Major General DKGD Sirisena USP and was welcomed by the President of the Provost Ladies Club Mrs.Waruni Ubayawardena. Many senior officers and provost ladies graced this occasion.
