President Mrs. Waruni Ubayawardene and 15 members of the Provost Ladies Club of SLCMP paid a visit to “Dambulukelegama” a rural village in Giritale on 30th March 2018 to facilitate the low income families with welfare projects and donations totally worth of Rs:271,743/-. Following projects were initiated:
a. 69 dry ration packs with school shoes, bags, stationeries, medicine, toys worth Rs:224,423/- were donated for 69 low income families. b. 530 plants including cashew, esala, teak, custard apple, lemon, guava, jack fruit and pomegranate worth Rs:28,000/- were distributed. c. 69 Lord Buddha statues worth Rs:19,320/- were gifted for the needy people in the village. d. Western medical clinic was held with 03 doctors and 161 patients had taken treatments and medicine free of charge. e. Ayurvedic medical clinic with therapeutic facilities were conducted with 03 doctors and 126 patients had taken treatments and medicine free of charge. f. All the people at the function were given ranawara, iramusu, polpala and belimal medicine drinks. g. All the children at the function were given ice – cream.
The event was successfully organized by 2 SLCMP, under the guidance of the Colonel Comdt of SLCMP.
