\"RANSALAKUNA\" TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SOLDIERS’ WELFARE
An enchanting stage performance for those who admire traditional cultural dances and recital drew a large crowd on November 27th to the Kularathne Hall of Ananda College, Colombo when the Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) organized “Ran Salakuna†presented by “Ranvala Balakayaâ€. A number of native drum plays, folk songs, dances and dramas presented by Sahan Ranvala and the team fascinated hundreds of fans for hours in two evening shows.
At invitation of Chairperson SLCMP Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Shirani Udawatta, President Army Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Nayana De Silva graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Profits earned from the “Ran Salakuna†public shows goes to SLCMP Seva Vanitha fund to augment welfare measures for the families of members of the Regiment who were killed and injured in the Humanitarian Operation and of serving members as well.
Steps taken by the SLCMP Seva Vanitha Branch to organize a show of this nature that promotes country’s identity on performance arts for fund raising was greatly appreciated by the thrilled crowd of fans. More than 80 artists including “Ranvala Lama Balakaya†contributed in presenting a range of items.

and senior officers joined the crowd to witness the show.
