Visit to Abhimansala and Book Donation program to children of SLCMP soldiers
A visit to†Abimansala “Anuradhapura was made by the president and members of the Provost Ladies Club of SLCMP regiment on the 6 th December 2014. Sets of bed sheets and caps were donated to the dependent war heroes. A lunch was followed by an entertainment program.
There after a book donation program was conducted under the guidance of the President of Provost Ladies Club of SLCMP Mrs. Shirani Udawatta for the first time in the club’s history. 950 children of soldiers were selected to receive books required for the upcoming school year. The donation program covered children of KIA,MIA, WIA , all serving soldiers and all civil workers from the regiment. Books were symbolically donated to 12 children from the Anuradhapura district at Abhimansala marking the commencement of the donation program.
