SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE INITIATED A VISIT PROGRAMME TO INSPECT THE CONDITIONS AND WELLBEING OF THE FAMILIES OF BRAVE PROVOST SOLDIERS WHO SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES DURING THE WAR

During what was the long march from war to peace, many brave men and women stood among us have made supreme sacrifices in the line of duty. The sacrifices, they made have bought the entire nation to the joy of peace .Among all sacrifices, 7 x Officers and 48 Non - Commissioned Officers belonged to Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police .

While the entire nation is paying tribute to those war heroes who laid down their life to future of our country, Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police initiated the "Home Visit Programme" for those families with following objectives:

                  a.  Inspect the livelihood and wellbeing.
                  b.  Provision of assistance and support for whom deemed necessary.
                  c.  To add values and give the honour to close relatives those who missed their beloved family members.

The Provost Marshal of SL Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc with his clear visionary idea has given the direction to RHQ and under command unit to inspire this exceptional programme.

Accordingly, a team comprised with 1 x Senior Officer, RSM and NCO s of each Provost Units attended to the visit of the families with in their respective AORs to inspect the conditions and wellbeing of their next of kin and beneficiaries.

All Commanding Officers positively responded the programme and provided their maximum effort to make this programme successful. Further, following actions were negotiated to be implemented in future to facilitate their comfort and wellbeing.

                  a. Health care arrangements in collaboration with respective military hospital with in the AOR.
                  b. Steps have been taken to uplift the living standards of them.
                  c. Establish an effective and strong point of communication system to assist them in an emergency.
