SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE CELEBRATES 34 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) recently celebrated a significant milestone, commemorating its 34th anniversary with pomp and fervor. The programme itinerary consisted with the war heroes commemoration held on 22 March 2024 at 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Giritale , a pirith chanting and alms giving programme held at Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police on 27 March 2024 followed by a ceremonial parade and musical evening held on 19 April 2024 at the camp premises.

Since its inception up to date, the Regiment has played a vital role in maintaining discipline, enforcing regulations, and upholding the integrity of the Sri Lanka Army. The grand celebration was held on 19 April 2024 at Regimental Headquarters Premises and Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police dignified the day as the Chief Guest. The Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu extended best wishes to the Colonel Commandant and All Ranks of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

The day commenced with the offering a resplendent Guard Turnout to the Chief Guest that denotes the precision, discipline, and honor. The magnificent ceremonial parade conferred by the officers and Other Ranks showcased the glamour and fame of 34 years of long journey. As the rhythmic beat of drums reverberated through the air, rows of smartly uniformed provost personnel marched in unison, exemplifying the unity and strength of the regiment.

Following the parade, all ranks gathered for a festive All Rank Lunch, fostering camaraderie and solidarity among the members of the Provost family. The highlight of the anniversary celebration was the Troops Address, delivered by the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police. With heartfelt gratitude, the senior officer commended the dedication and bravery exhibited by the personnel in upholding the values of integrity and service. Emphasizing the importance of adaptability and innovation in the face of evolving challenges, the senior officer outlined the strategic vision for the future of the corps, inspiring all present to strive for excellence in their endeavors.

In this harmonious celebration of 34th anniversary, delighted audiences were fascinated with a spectacular musical show. As the melodies filled the air, a solidarity was flourished among all ranks that reinforced the bonds of unity within the provost family.
