The Regimental Headquarters, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) hosted a colorful farewell parade on 08 April 2023 for one of its proud Senior Officer, Brigadier DMA Bandara, who retired after a dedicated service rendered more than three decades.
The day’s ceremony commenced with the customary Guard Turnout and a colorful farewell parade that followed at the RHQ parade ground. He took the farewell salute at the Home of Provost from the special dais at the parade ground. The event is further followed by the tea at the RHQ Officers' mess.
Later in the evening, a customary farewell dinner was hosted to the retiring senior officer with participating Provost Officers and their spouses. The Colonel Commandant of SLCMP delivered the farewell note extending a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for the service rendered by Brig Anura Bandara while recalling some of the salient achievements, milestone and memories of the senior officer.
Later on, During the formal Speech done by Brig Anura Bandara after the Col Comdt Farewell note, thanked the Colonel Commandant, all Officers of Provost family and all ranks for the support they extended during his tenure and he shared his experiences with Junior Officers and urged them to perform duties as a discipline Provost Officer while safeguarding the reputation of the origination.
The Commander FMA (MLT) and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General AL Illangakoon, The Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army Major General ACA De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, Council members, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the formal ceremony.
