SLCMP PAYS LAST RESPECT TO LATE LIEUTENANT ABRAHAM EKANAYAKE (RETIRED) – 1 SLCMP

Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police paid last respect to remains lying of late Lieutenant Abraham Ekanayake (Retired) – 1 st Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police at the residence No. 278 Seamon Avenue ,Nilpanagoda, Minuwangoda.

O/50562 Lieutenant Abraham Ekanayake (Retired) - 1SLCMP was born to Mr.Pabilis Appuhami and Mrs. EA Katharine on 07 May 1931 and he studied at Senarath Paranawethana College – Udugampollla.

He enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 08 November 1951 as an other ranker. Due to his dedication and the commitment towards the organization, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 01 April 1972. Later, this Officer was posted to Field Security Detachment (FSD). He was retired from the service in 1978. Lieutenant Abraham Ekanayake (Retired) passed away on 16 March 2024 (Saturday) due to a sudden illness occurred with the age. At the time of his passing, he was 94 years old.

The Provost Marshal of SL Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc together with all Officers and Other Ranks condoled with late Lieutenant Ekanayake’s family members and expressed the deep sorrow on the sudden death of the veteran of SLCMP.

The Commitment, dedication and devotion to the nation of Lieutenant Abraham Ekanayake was recalled during the funeral formalities held at 1500 hr on Monday, 18 March 2024 and he was accorded the NO 2 Funeral Parade at the Public cemetery, Nilpanagoda.
