SLCMP COMPLETES THE TURN OF CEREMONIAL DUTIES AT PRESIDENT’S HOUSE

President's Ceremonial Guard is a noble and historic good old duty in which the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police bestowed with opportunity in honour of performing since 1978. Ever since then up to date, the SLCMP has carried out this colored ceremonial formalities which are accorded to the President reflecting the pride of the SL Army.

Accordingly, SLCMP undertook President's Ceremonial Guard for the second half of year 2023 on 01 July 2023. After the successfully completion of tenure, exchanging formalities of the President's Ceremonial Guard at the President's House was taken place with SL Navy on 01 January 2024 at a brief ceremony held in front of the President's House. Consequently, the SLCMP troops who performed the ceremonial duties for the second half of the year 2023 was handed over to the troops of SL Navy.

Simultaneously, the responsibility of hoisting the National flag at Galle Face Green also was taken over by the Sri Lanka Navy on 31 December 2023. These allotted ceremonial duties were performed by the specially trained troops of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

The ceremonial exchanging of duties were carried out under the direct supervision of the Provost Marshal of SL Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc. All squad was privileged to pose for the group photograph with Head of the State ,His Excellency, Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces before handing over the duties to Sri Lanka Navy officially.
