The Inter Regiment Combat Shooting Competition -2023, organized by the Army Small Arms Association (ASAA), together with the Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) at Diyatalawa, was held from 07 November 23 to 16 Nov 2023 for 10 days at 1000m Firing Range Diyatalawa with the participation of 35 teams representing 23 Regiments in the Army under open and novices categories. The annual Meet that expects to expand the field of rifle shooting to be on par with international standards was completed by 400 plus shooters representing all regiments of SL Army.
The Championship in the Combat Shooting Meet under Service Regiments category was collected by the shooters of Sri Lanka Corps Military Police by scoring 1897 out of 2500 points from the shoot which was held on 09 November 2023, pushing Sri Lanka Army Service Corps shooters and Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Shooters to be the 2nd and 3rd runners up respectively. Being as a service regiment, the firing team of Sri Lanka Corps Military Police was able to secure the 9 th Position among all arms under open category.
Following Officer, SNCO and NCOs of SLCMP firing team who obtained more than 200 out of 250 points were qualified to be decorated with marksmanship insignia at the prize awarding ceremony held on 22 October 2023.

The Constant guidance, supervision and the motivation provided by the Provost Marshal of SL Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Senior Officers, Officers were the big strength to achieve this magnitude.
