THE REGIMENTAL HEADQUARTERS OF SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE ORGANIZED THE TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON PROCUREMENT PROCEDURE FOR OFFICERS & NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS

Under the direction of the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police initiated the two days workshop on Procurement Procedure from 22 Nov 2023 to 23 Nov 2023. The core objective of the workshop is to widen the knowledge of the Officers and Non Commissioned Officers of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police on the procurement procedures and relevant subject areas.

The beginning of the workshop was marked with the opening address by the Colonel Provost of Directorate of Provost and the Senior Officer emphasized the value of the knowledge in this field as Provost Members to carry out their duties in the investigation field in high standard.

The intellectual lecture assistance was provided by the immensely qualified resource personnel, Mr. G S K Samarathunga, the Chief Accountant, Ministry of Defence and during the session the lecturer shared the knowledge with his experiences in the field and inspired the audience to solve their complications.

Altogether, 14 Officers and 52 Non commissioned Officers who perform island wide provost duties participated to the session and the workshop content included the following subjects’ areas:

a. Introduction to procurement procedure.
b. Methods of Procurement.
c. Procedure of Calling and opening Bids.
d. Tender Procedure.
e. Estimation of Boards.
f. Ledger Accounts finalizing & reporting.
g. Possible financial Corruptions and Malpractices of Tenders.

The Termination ceremony was held on 23 November 2023 (evening) where the participants Officer and ORs received certificates as a testimony of completions the workshop. The Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Centre Commandant, the Colonel Provost of Directorate of Provost, other Senior Officers, Officers and Students of the workshop participated to the closing address and the certificate awarding ceremony.
