PRESIDENT OF ARMY SEVA VANITHA UNIT LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR MULTIPURPOSE WELFARE COMPLEX

At an auspicious time on June 22, 2025, the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, ceremonially laid the foundation stone for the proposed Multipurpose Welfare Complex at the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) in Polhengoda.

Upon her arrival, Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake was warmly welcomed by the President of the SLCMP Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Iresha Perera, and members of the SLCMP Seva Vanitha Branch.

During the visit, Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake donated wheelchairs to two SLCMP personnel in need, demonstrating the organization’s continued commitment to the well-being of its members. Additionally, she presented a gift voucher to a civil employee working at an SLCMP establishment, symbolizing a broader initiative undertaken by the Seva Vanitha Branch to assist 58 such employees serving across various SLCMP establishments island-wide.

In a further gesture of support, the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit donated essential furniture and equipment to the SLCMP Seva Vanitha Branch, strengthening the infrastructure needed for upcoming welfare projects.

The event was graced by the presence of the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP ndu psc, the Commander of the Logistics Command Security Force Headquarters (Central), Major General R D Sallay ndc, the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier A M R Abeysinghe ndc, the Centre Commandant of the SLCMP, Brigadier M M M P Mahesh Kumara, senior officers and officers, along with members of the Seva Vanitha Branch.
