MAJOR GENERAL B G S FERNANDO USP Hdmc psc ASSUMES DUTIES AS THE COMMANDER, SECURITY FORCES (CENTRAL)

Maj Gen B G S Fernando USP Hdmc psc, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Military Police, assumed duties as the Commander, Security Forces (Central) on 5^th June 2026.

The taking over ceremony was conducted in line with established military traditions, including a guard turnout, guard of honour, and other formal courtesies accorded to the occasion.

He brings extensive operational and command experience to his new appointment, having served in key leadership roles within the Sri Lanka Army.
