The SLCMP camp, Giritale located in the close proximity to the city, Polonnaruwa, which is considered as the destination of ancient city.
The previously constructed “The Dream Nest” and “The White House” which were functioning as holiday destinations for the ORs of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and the SL Army who visit the ancient city, Polonnaruwa.
During the Covid-19 outbreak, from year 2019 to 2020, both holiday bungalows were temporary closed.
Therefore, to facilitate the ORs of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, both attractive holiday bungalows were renovated and erected in a new condition with all modern facilities under the direction of the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc.
The required monetary assistance to reconstruct these bungalows was provided by the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and this welfare project was steered by the present Commanding Officer of 2nd Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major K N Indrajith USP Lsc together with the contribution of all ranks of 2 SLCMP . The both holiday destinations were reopened for the usage of ORs of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police in a charming ceremony held on 03 November 2023.
