The finals and the prize awarding ceremony of the inter unit swimming Championship -2023 got underway on Friday evening 18 August 2023 at Panagoda Army Cantonment Swimming Complex.
The Commanding Officer of 1st Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major EWHS Eramudugolla USP psc welcomed the day’s Chief Guest the Provost Marshal of SL Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A de Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc on behalf of the organizing committee and the Chief Guest officially inaugurated the inter unit swimming Championship 2023.
The Swimming competition was competed by more than 75 male and female swimmers of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police representing Seven SLCMP Units, Special Investigation Unit & School of Military Police under Novices and Open Categories. Towards the end of the finals, the Provost Marshal of SL Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A de Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc extended best wishes to the Swimmers and gave away the trophies and certificates to the achievers.
At the end of the event, the Male Championship of the inter unit swimming Championship - 2023 was grabbed by 1st Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Swimmers and the Runners up was grabbed by 2nd Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Swimmers. Meanwhile the Female Championship of the inter unit swimming Championship - 2023 was grabbed by School of Military Police female Swimmers. The best male swimmer was S/681463 Pte Thennakoon TMSD -7 SLCMP , while S/ 681817 L/Cpl Bandara WMKD – 7 SLCMP was selected as the best female swimmer.
The Centre Commandant, Several Senior Officers, Officers, Other ranks of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police participated the finals and the awarding ceremony.
