Educational visit to Colombo Port, Museum and Planetarium by SIU

An educational visit organized by Special Investigation Unit in accordance with 22nd Anniversary Celebration took place on 03rd July 2019 with the participation of 04 Officers and 116 Other Ranks . The event was planned and executed as per the direction and guiding lights given by the Col ACA De Zoysa USP Lsc the Commanding Officer - SIU. Keeping in the view of enhancing the knowledge of shipping, legends and planet the visit covered Colombo Port, Museum and Planetarium.
As per the day proceedings the group of officers and Other Ranks visited Colombo Port Including Jaya Cargo Administration Area, Control Room, Port Operation Area & Dock Yard, thus could broaden the knowledge on their operations. While visiting the dockyard the group was able to witness the vessel outfitting workshop which is rare to be seen. Entire group was illuminated by sound briefing carried out by the marine engineers and the guiding assistance extended by the staff at workshop.
The visit was culminated after visiting of museum and the planetarium in the evening of scheduled day.
