Laying of foundation stone for the construction of a house for needy family of deceased S/678978 Cpl Abeyrathna GMRS of 2 SLCMP took placed on 20 December 2021 in Imbulana, Ruwanwella under the patronage of the Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Major General Anil Illangakoon and with the participation of Centre Commandant Colonel Ramesh Sallay.
The construction project was initiated under the guidance and coordination of the President of Provost Ladies club Mrs Inoka Illangakoon and Regimental Centre of SLCMP with the financial assistance of Mr and Mrs Saunders Jayathilaka who living in Canada. Construction will be done with the labour assistance of the 2 SLCMP under the close supervision of Commanding Officer of 2 SLCMP Major Eranda Nerangama and previous Commanding Officer Lt Col Rasandun Withanarachchi. Few Senior Officers of SLCMP and few senior members of Provost Ladies club participated for the event.
