In a solemn ceremony overflowing with respect and admiration, the Officers of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) bid farewell to Lieutenant Colonel B K Sugathapala USP on his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army. The formal farewell dinner with a profound sense of gratitude and camaraderie was held at the Officers Mess of the Regimental Centre on 8th April 2024.
The journey over 33 years in the Sri Lanka Army is a testament to his unyielding dedication to duty and his profound sense of service to the nation. Throughout his career, the Senior Officer exemplified the core values earning the respect and admiration of his peers and subordinates. As a member of the provost family Lieutenant Colonel B K Sugathapala USP played a pivotal role in performing operational and administrative tasks.
In accordance with the customs and traditions, the retiring Senior Officer alongside with his beloved lady wife Mrs. Kusum Sugathapala and family members were warmly welcomed by the Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and Mrs. Priyanthika De Zoysa, the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.
The salient reminiscences of 33 years of journey was recalled through the memory trail and Lieutenant Colonel S P Kasthuriarchchi, the Staff Officer 1 (Administration) and the Over Looking Commanding Officer of the 1st Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police delivered the farewell speech with a word of appreciation. Finally, the event was terminated with an interactive session followed by the dinner where the retiring senior Officer and his family members shower with the praise and wishes from provost family.
