Major General B G S Fernando USP Hdmc psc, the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, paid an official visit to the 5th Regiment SLCMP on 31 December 2025.
The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed with a ceremonial Drive Pass at the main entrance. During the visit, the Colonel Commandant ceremonially opened the newly constructed Cook House and planted a sapling to mark the occasion. He later addressed the troops, commending their discipline and professionalism, while offering guidance for future responsibilities.
The Colonel Commandant also inspected key facilities and interacted with officers and other ranks. An All Ranks Tea was held in his honour, followed by a group photograph and signing of the Visitors’ Book.
The Provost Marshal, Major General A M R Abeysinghe ndc, senior officers, officers, and other ranks of 5 SLCMP also participated in the visit.
