Special investigation Unit (SIU) of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) marked its’ 22nd anniversary on Friday (07) June 2019. The celebration commenced on Monday (03) with the religious blessings and receiving of the honor of ceremonial formalities by the Commanding Officer Col ACA de Zoysa USP Lsc held on Friday (07including guard turnout and the ceremonial parade followed by the troop address and all ranks tea party.
Achieving a significant milestone to the inheritable functions of SIU “Crime Scene Evidence Display Room” (CSEDR) declared open by the Brig LPR Premalal USP the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army. Meeting the Contemporary requirement that to be a technology oriented investigator this Display Room will helps to improve and enhance the knowledge on Crime Scene Investigation, Ways of Dangerous drug prevention and the new use of technological aspects of the investigation field of the Military Police Officers’ and ORs. CSEDR includes - a. Detection of evidence by ultra Violet Radiation. b. Details about polygraph test. c. Drugs and narcotics. d. Evidence collecting methods at crime scene. e. Documentary of Crime Scene Investigation. f. Foot print and Finger Print lifting equipments. g. Display of Firearms and explosives. h. Evidence collecting Equipment and tools. i. Protection, Collecting and numbering of Crime Scene evidence with a dummy display.
