BOOK DONATION FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN OF YEAR 2016 OF SLCMP
Book donation programme initiated by the President of Provost Ladies Club Mrs Shirani Udawatta was held for the second successive year on 12th December 2015 at the Regimental Headquarters, Polhengoda. Books were donated for all the schooling children of Other Ranks and civilians serving at Military Police for the academic year 2016. Books were donated to 36 children symbolizing the programme. The distinct ceremony was chaired by the President of Provost Ladies Club and most of the Provost Ladies participated for this special event. The donation programme covered a total number of 1,440 children and distributed 17,487 books worth over one million rupees. The programme was made more colorful by the performance of the \"Lama Balakaya \" of the renowned \" Ranwala Balakaya\" . All children who took part for the performance too were donated with books by the President of the Ladies Club.
