ASSUMING THE DUTIES OF STAFF OFFICER 1 - SLCMP OFFICER COMMANDING TROOPS (MLT)

With the restructuring process, the 6th Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police has been suppressed with effect from 16 January 2024. To cover the Mullaitivu AOR and to perform the operational Military Police tasks, an organization by the name of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Officer Commanding Troops - Mullaitivu was established at auspicious time on 16 January 2024.

Amidst the religious observances and the ceremonial formalities, Lieutenant Colonel K D N Karunarathne USP assumed duties as the Staff Officer 1 of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Officer Commanding Troops - Mullaitivu on 1 March 2024.

The senior Officer was warmly welcomed at the door step of the camp. Thereafter, planting a sapling, group photograph, all ranks tea and finally troops address were held where the senior Officer expressed his vision and the expectations in coming years.
