Book donation programme was held for the 5th time on 13th October 2019 at the Regimental Headquarters, Colombo 05. Total no. of 21961 books worth approximately 2 million rupees were donated to a total no. of 1442 schooling children of all the officers, other rankers, KIA, MIA, WIA soldiers and civilians who serve in SLCMP for the academic year 2020. Books were donated to 55 children symbolizing the ceremony.
Simultaneously 13 children of SLCMP soldiers performed their aesthetic abilities in the fields of singing, dancing, instrument playing and compeering through the Young Provost Talent Show. They were given gifts worth Rs. 39000/- along with a certificate. The Chief Guest of the event was the Commander, Logistic command and Colonel Commandant of SLCMP Maj Gen DKGD Sirisena USP welcomed by the President of the Provost Ladies Club Mrs. Shayamalee Podiralahamie. Many senior officers and most of the provost ladies graced this special occasion.
