Book donation programme was held for the 4th time on 19th December 2017 at the Regimental Headquarters, Colombo 05. Total no. of 22358 books worth approximately 1.8 million rupees were donated to a total no. of 1760 schooling children of all the officers, other rankers, KIA, MIA, WIA soldiers and civilians who serve in SLCMP for the academic year 2018. Books were donated to 60 children symbolizing the ceremony. Simultaneously 13 children of SLCMP soldiers performed their aesthetic abilities in the fields of singing, dancing, instrument playing and compeering through the Young Provost Talent Show. They were given gifts worth Rs. 26000/- along with a certificate. The Chief Guest of the event was the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army and the Col Comdt of SLCMP Brigadier DKGD Sirisena USP welcomed by the President of the Provost Ladies Club Mrs. Waruni Ubhayawardena. Many senior officers and most of the provost ladies graced this special occasion.
