ALL NIGHT PIRITH CHANTING AND ALMS GIVING AT THE HOME OF PROVOST TO CELEBRATE 27 REGIMENTAL DAY

An all night ‘Pirith Chanting’ ceremony held on 21 April 2017 to commemorate Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police personnel killed and missing in action during active service and to invoke blessings paralleled to Regimental Day followed by an Alms Giving for 27 members of the Maha Sangha on 22 April 2017. Prior to the commencement of Pirith chanting ceremony, the ‘Reliquary’ (Karaduwa) was taken to the Home of Provost in a colorful procession and was placed in the ‘Pirith Mandapaya’ by the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment and Provost Marshal of the SL Army, Brig D K G D Sirisena USP. Furthermore, many retired and serving senior Officers and Other Ranks were participated the events.
