4 SLCMP CELEBRATED THE 29 CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE

Dignifying the name of “Provost” at Jaffna Peninsula, 4th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police marked her diligent endeavour over 29 years of long journey. Sequential events were held to coincide with the anniversary on 18 and 19 July 2024 under the patronage of the Commanding Officer, Major W D C Siriwardena psc Lsc.

In view of the concept of “ Unity and Harmony”, the cleaning campaign at the Provincial Health Training Centre - Myliddy was conducted on the morning of 18 July 2024 by troops of 4 SLCMP as the initial step of the magnificent event series. Thereafter, a Bodi Pooja was held on 18 July in order to shower blessings on all ranks of 4 SLCMP.

On 19 July, the ceremonial program began with a guard turnout and impressive parade in part with the 29th Anniversary of 4 SLCMP gracing of the Commanding Officer as the Chief Guest. All ranks of 4 SLCMP appeared in the groupphotograph as the memory of the 29th Anniversary. All ranks lunch was then held with the presence of the Officers and Other Ranks with the aim to build up unity, strength and coherence within the unit thus creating a friendly, healthy working atmosphere. The speech of the Commanding Officer created an opportunity for all ranks to have a road map for succeeding in both professional and personal life.

The proceedings were concluded with a speech in which the Commanding Officer in an appreciative tone admired the exceptional service of 4 SLCMP to the nation and the excellent contribution of the former Commanding Officers and their dedicated teams to elevate the 4 SLCMP to the present standards. The 29th anniversary celebrations powered by a series of military, cultural and religious events came to an end with the all ranks get-together held in the camp premises by adding the utmost glorification to the prestige of the 4 SLCMP.

The Senior Officers, Officer Commanding’s of affiliated Provost Companies, Officers and Other Ranks of the 7th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police were present at the occasion.
