Mrs. Nayomani De Silva officially assumed duties as the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch – Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, at 11:35 a.m. at the Seva Vanitha Office, Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) successfully organized a Children’s Day Celebration on 27th September 2025 at the Gymnasium, Panagoda, for 100 children (grade 1 to 5)of officers, other ranks, war heroes, and the civil staff.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Thushari Abeysinghe, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch – Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, along with other senior members. The Vice President, Mrs. Nayomi De Silva, and the Public Relations Officer, Major Chathurani Ovitigala (Retd), were also in attendance.
During the session, new nominees were officially appointed. The event was further enriched with vibrant drama and dance performances, adding colour and festive spirit to the occasion.
With the kind approval of the President of the Main Seva Vanitha Unit, a much-needed sanitary facility was successfully constructed for Mr. Hasitha Udana, a dedicated civilian labourer serving at the Officers’ Mess, RHQ SLAGSC, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
The "Kadala Dansala" organized by 2 (V) SLAGSC with the instructions and guidance of the President Mrs. Thushari Abeysinghe was ceremonially declared open at 4:30 p.m. at Bodhirajaramaya Temple by the Director, Directorate of Pay and Records Brigadier Sarath De Silva and Mrs. Nayomi De Silva the Vice-President of the Seva Vanitha Branch SLAGSC.
Approximately 3,000 devotees benefited from the Dansala, receiving alms in a spirit of compassion and community during this sacred day. The event was a remarkable success.
A highly successful blood donation program was organized by the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) on 21st March 2025. The event was held at the Lecture Hall of the SLAGSC premises, with the invaluable support of the medical team from the Narahenpita Army Hospital. The program was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mrs. Thushari Abeysinghe, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, SLAGSC and Vice President Mrs Nayomi De Silva and few Senior Seva Vanitha member took part.
A heartwarming farewell party was organized by the Seva Vanitha Branch, SLAGSC, to honor the esteemed former President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Ruvina Mettananda. The grand event took place at the RHQ, SLAGSC Officers' Mess, where guests gathered to acknowledge Madam Mettananda’s remarkable contributions and leadership.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) proudly organized a heartfelt book donation program on 2 March 2025. The event aimed to benefit 112 needy children of different ages attending Waligalla Sri Thusitha Dhamma school Kandy.
Seva Vanitha Br SLAGSC hosted a book donation program on 25 Feb at RHQ Lecture hall to support our courageous soldiers and civil laborers. During this event, we provided books, shoes, and bags to help enhance the education journey and brighten the futures of 225 sons and daughters of brave soldiers and civil labors. In an inspiring show of compassion and solidarity, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) on 11 Feb 2025 organized a heartfelt hospital visit to the Mihindu Seth Madura Ranaviru Hospital in Attidiya. This gesture was part of their ongoing efforts to support and uplift the lives of brave soldiers who have been disabled in the line of duty during the war.
