The Pre-deployment Training for Level II Hospital in United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) was commenced on 29 April 2024 and concluded on 22 May 2024. The course consisted of 97 students (16 x Officers and 81 x Other Ranks).

Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) has designed this mission specific course to provide a basic knowledge on practical and theoretical aspects of United Nations and special tasks which are assigned to them according to the mandate. The course curriculum consisted with many important aspect such as introduction to UN peacekeeping, Situational Trainings, IHL & HR, Field Training Exercise (FTE) and etc.

Moreover, this was also designed to ensure them to perform their tasks proficiently and effectively in liaison with various HQs and contingents in UNMISS. Furthermore, the closing remark was delivered by Brigadier S A Hettige RSP psc, the Commandant of IPSOTSL.
