The International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Basic Course (Officers) No 34 was conducted at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) under the direction and guidance of the Directorate of Legal Services, Human Rights & Humanitarian Law (Dte of Leg Svcs HR & HL) from 19 February 2024 to 07 March 2024. The course consisted of 37 x Officers from Tri Services and 1x Officer from Special Task Force.

The objective of the course was to develop the knowledge of officers on Human Rights, Humanitarian Law and its implications. Course curriculum is designed with the basic lessons of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and highly concerned on developing instructor capabilities of every participant and produce skillful Officer Instructors to the Armed Forces.

The closing remarks were delivered by Major General W W H R R V M N D K B Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc - Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army on 07 March 2024. Major General C A Rajapaksha RSP -The Commandant of Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka and Colonel N S Nallaperuma USP ndc - Director Legal Services, Human Rights & Humanitarian Law were alsopresent at the ceremony.
