Force Protection Company Pre-deployment Training Course Lebanon (UNIFIL) No 15 and Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Unit Pre-deployment Training Course Central Africa (MINUSCA) No 09stage 02 was commenced on 10 July 2023 and concluded on 10 August 2023. The courses were consisted with 280 students (19 x 203 from Sri Lanka Army and 13 x 45 from Sri Lanka Air Force) representing various Corps and Regiments.

Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOT-SL) has designed these mission specific courses to provide a basic knowledge on practical and theoretical aspects of United Nations and special tasks which belongs to them according to the mandate. The main objective of this training capsule is to offer a brief awareness about the relevant host country and to prepare peacekeepers to fulfill the UN objectives proficiently and effectively in liaison with various HQs and contingents in the mission environment. The course curriculum was consisted with many important proceedings such as Lane & situational Trainings, Presentations, examinations and Field Training Exercise (FTE) - Ex - Falcon Strike.

The Sri Lankan Army contingent consists with 11 x 114 peacekeepers have deployed in Lebanon in order to ensure the protection of the Force Headquarters. It also extends its assistance to help in ensuring the humanitarian access to civilian population. The Sri Lanka Air Force has deployed an Aviation Unit in the Central Africa in order to carry out VIP transportation, transportation of food and equipment, domestic flying, Para dropping and medical evacuation in the Central African Republic, in support of the overall UN mandate for that nation.
