The Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka marked its 19th anniversary on 12th June at the IPSOTSL premises with a great distinction. IPSOTSL is the only training institute in Sri Lanka which is dedicated to train and prepare to deploy in peacekeeping missions. This prestigious training establishment marked its 19th anniversary in a series of commemorative events.

As an event of the anniversary programme, a special cleaning project conducted in Kosgulana temple prior to the arms giving ceremony and donated needed stationary items to novice monks. With the intention of enhancing the goodwill among the training establishment and course participants a soft ball cricket tournament organized in conjunction with the anniversary celebrations.

In accordance with the long-lasting military traditions, a formal Guard Turnout was presented to Brigadier Chinthaka Rajapaksha, the Commandant IPSOTSL. Afterwards, he planted a sapling in the compound as a token of remembrance of 19th Anniversary of institute.

All ranks of the organization took a group photograph and participated in the customary troops’ address conducted by the Commandant IPSOTSL. All rank lunch was arranged with the participation of all senior officers and it added significance to the occasion.

Brigadier Chinthaka Rajapaksha, Commandant, IPSOTSL, Lieutenant Colonel Amitha Hewagama the Chief Instructor who were energetically in organizing the chain of commemorative events, and other Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks contributed to the success of the anniversary commemoration.
