  UNITED NATIONS MILITARY OBSERVER COURSE NO 01 UNMOC 2022
 


United Nations Military Observer Course No 01 UNMOC 2022 was conducted on 28 November to 16 December 2022 at IPSOTSL. The course consisted with 37 Student Officers of the Sri Lanka Armed forces. IPSOTSL has mainly focus on the prime responsibility which a Military Observer has to perform and formulated the course curriculum according to the guide lines provided by the UNDPKO.

The UN Military Observers (UNMOs) are the eyes and the ears of the Mission. The Lecture Panel was consisted with 02 foreign Officer Instructors, Lt Col M D Sharif Raihan from Bangladesh Army and Major Laxman Khadka from the Nepal Army and other 03 In-house instructors, Lt Col P W Karunarathna RSP USP GW, Lt Col K A A K Krunarathna RWP RSP USP psc SLLI and Major Amitha Wijekoon psc GW to facilitate and educate student officers on the Military Observer Duties with real ground experience.

The Closing address was delivered by Brigadier C A Rajapaksha RSP, the Commandant - IPSOTSL. During the opening remarks the commandant highlighted the importance of a Military Observer as UN Peacekeeping personals to ensure the world peace.
