The Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) conducted a special programme to celebrate the 73nd Army Day Anniversary celebrations on 10 October 2022.
The day’s programme commenced by hoisting the Army flag by Brigadier CA Rajapaksha RSP the Commandant of Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka, Afterwards, the Army song was sung and a two-minute silence was observed in commemoration of fallen war heroes and remembering injured war heroes, retired war heroes, serving Officers, All Ranks and members of the civil staff who have sacrificed their lives for the peace and security of the motherland.
And then read the special felicitation note issued by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu which admired the brave and valor of Sri Lanka Army soldiers and convey his best wishes and warm greetings to every member in the Sri Lanka Army.

In parallel to the 73rd anniversary of Sri Lanka Army IPSOTSL organized a special tree plantation event and the annual alms-giving and the veneration of the Bodhi-tree took place in memory of Sri Lanka Armed war heroes who laid their lives took place on Tuesday (11) at Vivekaramaya temple in Kelinkanda. Officers and Other Ranks attended the days’ proceedings adhering to the health formalities and days’ programme concluded with all rank lunch.
