  UNITED NATIONS MILITARY OBSERVER COURSE (UNMOC - 03)
 

United Nations Military Observer Course (UNMOC) organized at Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) commenced on 13.12.2021 with the directions of the Commandant, Brigadier C A Rajapaksha RSP and the Chief Instructor Lieutenant Colonel G H Amitha RWP RSP psc SF as per the guidelines given by the Army Headquarters and Directorate of Training. The course was consisted with 27 Student Officers including 4 Lady Officers.

The Aim of this course was to prepare the student officers as Military Observers and perform their respected duties as an honorable Military Observer under the flag of United Nations. All the lectures were delivered by a panel of qualified in-house and visiting lecturers with their close supervision on the course outline and subject matters.

The course participants are intensively training in the fields of negotiation, liaison, mediation, documentation, coordination, and reporting. The future “United Nations Military Observer has to undergo several-day exercises in open terrain, where they must demonstrate their knowledge and skills during patrolling and other mission orientated tasks in foreign lands.

Further, the course consisted with indoor and outdoor exercises to enhance the knowledge of the student officers, as how to execute the duties while collaborating the life in a strange land.
