The International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Basic Course was commenced on 01 November 2021 at IPSOTSL under the direction and guidance of Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. The course consisted of 20 officers including fifteen officers from the Sri Lanka Army, two officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force, one officers from the Sri Lanka Navy and two Inspector from Special Task Force of Sri Lanka Police and 49 Other Ranks from tri services and Police. The objective of the course was to enhance the knowledge of junior level officers and NCOs regarding Humanitarian Law, its implications and basic knowledge of Human Rights. The opening address was conducted by Brigadier KAN Rasika Kumara psc, the Director of Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
