South Sudan Level II Hospital Component Pre-deployment Training Course No 09 (UNMISS) and Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Unit Pre-Deployment Training Course Central Africa No 7 (MINUSCA) were commenced on 22 March 2021. South Sudan Level II Hospital Component Pre-deployment Training Course No 09 was consisted with 71 students (12 x Officers and 59 x ORs) and Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Unit Pre-Deployment Training Course Central Africa No 7 was consisted with 118 students (12 x Officer and 106 x ORs).

The course has designed to provide a basic knowledge on practical and theoretical aspects of United Nations. The main objective of this training capsule is to offer a brief awareness about the relevant foreign countries, location, surroundings, climatic condition, cultures and specially the duties and responsibilities- which belongs to them according to the mandate. Moreover this was also designed where they could perform their tasks proficiently and effectively in liaison with various HQs and contingents in UN missions. Furthermore, the course was commenced under the directions and guidance of Brigadier KPSA Fernando RWP RSP ndu, the Commandant of IPSOTSL and opening remarks was delivered by the Chief Instructor, Lt Col RA Samaranayake USP psc SLLI.
