Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) with the motive of raising the knowledge and skills of the Student Officers of United Nations Military Observer Course (UNMOC) – 2020 conducted a series of lectures (Part I) on the responsibilities of a United Nations Military Observer in specific missions at IPSOTSL auditorium.

The lectures were respectfully conducted by Lt Col MLR Molligoda USP SLSR, Lt Col MAPSB Manchanayaka RWP RSP SLLI, Maj NM Niflar USP SLAMC, Maj JLN Silva RSP psc SLE, Maj BPGSR Batawala psc SLA from 21.07.2020 to 24.07.2020. Lectures were initiated with the directions of the Commandant Brig RADS Shantha Ranaweera RWP RSP USP psc, Chief Instructor Lt Col RA Samaranayaka USP psc. All arrangements for the lectures were organized and facilitated by the Officer Instructors of IPSOTSL.

Lectures covered many important missions such as United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL), United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and other subject matters with special relevance to the military career as a UN Military Observer.
